Member Of The Month: Sandy

For November, we’re featuring one of our long-time members, Sandy!

If you’re a fan of group fitness at Beatty Park, you’ve probably seen Sandy around – or you might even be mates with her! Sandy is a group fitness fanatic who has been with us for over 20 years. She’s well known for being a social creature who motivates everyone around her.

We spoke to Sandy about her love for group fitness and what keeps her coming back to Beatty Park year after year.

What’s your fitness routine like?

I go to Beatty Park six days a week.

I love Les Mills classes and I do 14 classes a week – a mixture of BodyPump, Core, BodyAttack, BodyCombat and Throwdown.

Sunday is my day off.

Wow! What motivates you to maintain that routine?

Beatty Park has the best instructors, members and the staff are fantastic. I have made so many friends over the years, it's social and fun. Balance is the key, so if I want to eat and drink (which I do) then it has to be burnt off with exercise.

What’s kept you coming to Beatty Park for over 20 years?

I joined Beatty Park in May 2000, three months before my wedding. I needed to lose a few kilos to fit into my dress, so I started in the gym but soon decided I needed group fitness to motivate me and it did.

There have been many wonderful times over the years, Christmas parties and get-togethers.

I even held my 50th birthday party at Beatty Park which was fantastic, here's hoping they let me have my 60th there in five years’ time!
